Driving through the neighborhood at noon you might have thought the paparazzi caught some well known celebrity kayaking. Cars lined the road and everyone had cameras aimed at the water. It was certainly a sight to behold; a tourists dream! To our utter amazement forty, or so, of these gentle giants had come by to play, rest and feed. Now I've seen plenty of manatee before, but never all together like this. They operate at about the speed of drying paint, yet we never tire of watching them and never mind slowing down to accommodate their pace. In fact, we often sit transfixed with the hope of catching a breath. Today was such a day times forty.
